Records of a sailors' welfare society of Portland, Oregon. Includes minutes of meetings, organizational records, reports, and a small number of letters. Microfilm (designated Mss 292-1), contains records of abuses, correspondence and minutes (1878 March 29-1906 March) regarding board of directors and funding a new building; and correspondence and clippings regarding seamen's legal problems and debt collection litigation (1888 July 23-1906 June 17).
